What Is The Gospel?

The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners (1 Timothy 1:15). God created all men in His image to know Him, love Him, obey Him, and thus glorify Him forever (Romans 11:36). However, all men have sinned against God and are therefore separated from God and under His wrath (Genesis 3, Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2:1-3, Romans 6:23, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9). But God, in His great love and mercy, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save His people from their sin! Jesus Christ is the eternally begotten Son of God who became a man in order to live a perfectly righteous life that we didn’t live, pay for our sin by dying on the cross, and rise from the grave so that we would be forgiven of our sin, reconciled to God, and receive everlasting life (John 3:16, Galatians 4:4-5, Ephesians 2:4-10, 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Corinthians 15). God now calls all men everywhere to repent and trust in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins and the hope of eternal life in wonderful fellowship with God (Acts 17:30, Mark 1:15, Acts 16:31, John 11:25-26).
