Setting_Men_Free smaller.jpg Never has there been a time when it was so easy for a man to become addicted to sexual sin and so difficult to get free.

Our culture is permeated with sexual imagery. Magazine racks offer pictures of girls in teensy bikinis. Primetime situation comedies almost continually revolve around sexual storylines involving teenage promiscuity, extra-marital affairs, homosexuality and worse.

Out in public, jaded young girls wear belly shirts, low-cut blouses, skin-tight jeans and mini-skirts. And then there is the Internet, which houses the images of any kind of sexual fantasy a man might conceive.

Many Christian men feel like there’s no way out. Those who have become addicted to pornography or sexual sin often feel as though they have gone too far to ever find freedom. They have been in their sin for so long they can’t imagine a life of purity. Repeated failures, broken promises, and false starts have created a defeatist mentality that is difficult to break.

Reaching Out

Jesus Christ unequivocally stated that all sin begins in the heart. (Mark 7) Support groups, Internet filters and “bouncing eyes” may all play a small part in the process of finding freedom, but the real change must occur within the man’s heart. This deep spiritual work can only be done through the work of the Holy Spirit. Cheap, manmade solutions will only produce shoddy results and increase one’s sense of despair.

At Pure Life Ministries, they understand this intense battle and what it takes to find true and lasting freedom. For over 20 years they have been helping men across the entire range of sin—whether it is a struggle limited to lust and masturbation or has become a serious sexual addiction. Every one of their leaders and counselors has come out of a life of deep immorality himself. They understand because they have been there.
