The Gospel

Central to all we believe, all we are, and all we do is the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners (1 Timothy 1:15). The Bible teaches us that God created us in His image to know Him, love Him, obey Him, glorify Him, and enjoy life in His presence forever. However, all of us have sinned against God - we have broken His law and attempted to live life on our own terms -  and are therefore separated from Him and deserving of His just, eternal wrath. Not only that, but the Bible is clear that no amount of good works can earn us a right standing before God. Nothing we do can balance the scales in our favor. But the good news is that God, in His great love and mercy for sinners, sent His Son Jesus Christ to save us from our sin. Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became a man in order to live a perfect life, pay the price for our sins by dying on the cross, and rise from the grave so that we could be forgiven of our sins, reconciled to God, and receive the gift of eternal life. Now, the risen Lord Christ Jesus offers salvation as a free gift to all who will believe. We can do nothing to earn this great gift - we must only look to Jesus and believe. By faith, we turn from our sins and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, with the great hope that all who place their faith in Jesus will be saved (Acts 16:31a).
