Taming the Monster:
A respected Christian leader confronts her hidden struggle
Taming the angry monster.

Author Kathy Collard Miller told of how she abused her daughter in anger. “It started with yelling and then I was spanking in anger and then it got to the point where I kicked Darcy and pushed her onto the floor.”
Everything changed including her marriage when she learned to trust God. “Larry was not the source of my happiness, contentment, and security. God was. He could give me everything I need.” (more…)

Mike and Becky

What a blessing Matthew and Anna are! Yet we have so many other reasons for which to thank God for the Mike and Becky and their ministry among us. Our first associate pastor and wife have been such a blessing to us. Neither we nor they will ever be the same.
We enjoyed a time of fellowship together over dinner in the fellowship hall at 5:30 PM, Saturday April 14. The fellowship team led us well. We shared our appreciation to the Lord for the ministry of the Christs. Some shared through tears. Others brought laughter. Rhonda sang. We all prayed. (more…)

Living Together
I was at another meeting of the Cecil County Healthy Marriage initiative yesterday morning. We were looking at ways that churches can help save hurting marriages, encourage healthy marriage, and prevent divorce. We heard a compelling presentation of statistical facts offered by our presenter, a newspaper columnist.
Most amazing were the facts about cohabitation. The culture says that living together is a great way to prepare for successful marriage. WRONG! (more…)
