Autumn Fest

  Join our church in supporting the Fall Appreciation Day Parade at 10 AM on October 13, 2012. The parade begins at the Perryville Middle School, proceeds south on Aiken Avenue, and then west on Broad Street Following the parade, the town holds its Autumn Festival in the field near Rodger’s Tavern, close to the Susquehanna River. Come visit the First Baptist Church of Perryville booths where there will be a children’s craft making table, animal balloons, and free literature.

This support group features biblical, Christ-centered teaching that focuses on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. The DVD seminar features nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories of people, followed by a small group discussion about what was viewed. Past participants have related how helpful the information and follow-up discussions were to them.

“A public and general love”—Thomas Vincent (1634 – 1678)

  Thomas Vincent, who was removed from his pulpit during the great ejection of Puritans in 1662, is famous both for his book on Christian love and his courage during the great plague of London in 1665. As “pestilence walked in darkness, and destruction wasted at noon-day,” Vincent decided to remain in London to comfort and care for God’s people. It was the practical outworking of his teaching about the selfless public character of true devotion to Jesus.
